I bet you interpreted my question through the lenses of Democrat vs. Republican. The sad thing is that to do so is to go against American tradition. The Founding Fathers did not talk about left and right-wing extremism in terms of political parties but the amount of political power. To the Founders, tyranny and anarchy were the extremes to be avoided. Before the Constitution was ratified, Jefferson wrote, "We are now vibrating between too much and too little government, and the pendulum will rest finally in the middle." The Constitution put us in the middle. If Americans can get a hold of this concept, I believe we can eliminate much of the political scraps that are dividing the American people. Watch this short video, Measuring Government, which helps explain the genius of our party-blind Constitution. Enjoy.
